Using HostingSwift managed DNS

Host your zones with us, manage records in the panel, and use the DNS troubleshooting tools.

HostingSwift runs authoritative DNS for your domains, so you can manage every record for every service in one place.

What you get

  • A full authoritative DNS service (powered by PowerDNS) on redundant nameservers.

  • Record management from /panel/domains: A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, CAA and more.

  • Sensible defaults for web and mail when you add a service.

  • DNSSEC support on request.

  • Record-level TTL control.

Adding a zone

  1. /panel/domains → Add domain → Host DNS here.

  2. We create the zone and show your nameservers.

  3. Recreate your existing records (copy them from your current provider first).

  4. Change the NS records at your registrar to ours.

  5. Verify — see Nameservers and where your DNS lives.

Handy patterns

Point a subdomain at another service:

text
app.example.com. A 203.0.113.42
blog.example.com. CNAME example.com.

Let a third party verify the domain (search console, mail provider) — add the TXT record they give you:

text
example.com. TXT "verification-string-from-provider"

Mail routing — MX plus SPF/DKIM/DMARC. See Email DNS.

Wildcard for subdomains:

text
*.example.com. A 203.0.113.10

Troubleshooting tools

We run public DNS tools that do the diagnostic work for you:

Rate limits and abuse

Authoritative DNS should never be rate-limited for legitimate traffic — it is what makes your site reachable. If you also run a recursive resolver, keep it closed to the public internet; an open resolver is an abuse magnet and will be attacked and blocklisted.
